Smiffys' 'The Gruffalo and Other Stories' Costumes Nominated For Award

Smiffys are delighted to share that they have been nominated as finalists for Best Licensed Dress-Up Or Partyware at the 2022 Licensing Awards. The nomination is for their Julia Donaldson The Gruffalo and Other Stories Dress-Up Range for TU@ Sainsbury’s.

This isn’t their first time getting recognised by The Licensing Awards, who are owned and organised by Max Publishing. In previous years, Smiffys have taken home awards for Best Licensed Dress-Up or Partyware with their Roald Dahl costumes collection and their 60th Anniversary Barbie Costume. Smiffys also have a great number of nominations under their belt from recent years for the likes of their ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘The World of David Walliams’ costume collections.

The success of The Gruffalo range was of course helped by the popularity of beloved character created by Julia Donaldson back in 1999. The Gruffalo, who has terrible claws, and terrible tusks in it’s terrible jaws, knobbly knees and turned out toes, and a poisonous wart at the end of it’s nose. Has captivated the mind of children for over two decades now and helped teach the valuable lesson that intelligence can be used to overcome the brawny and intimidating.

Smiffys will be attending the awards night on Tuesday 13th September 2022, when all winners will be announced.
