Victor Frankenstein was the ‘mad scientist’ that wanted to create a man from corpse body parts and managed to bring him to life, he wasn’t given a name but over time ‘Frankenstein’ has become linked to the monster instead. The 1818 gothic novel written by Mary Shelley is a horror story that has truly stood the test of time, partly thanks to the first Frankenstein film released in 1910. Subsequent films depicted the hideous monster with green tinged skin and oversized grotesque features which is now instantly recognisable across the world.
