If you were to suddenly teleport to 13th century Venice during the period between 26th December and Lent, you would witness elaborate celebrations and parties filled with Venetians wearing ornate masquerade masks. The reason for wearing a mask was to conceal a persons true identity as the parties were the only time when the lower and upper classes would interact with each other. While the masks hid identities, the type and shape of the mask would often give away some indication of the wearers personality. The design team at Smiffys have created a beautiful range of masks and eye masks that would be the perfect finishing touch to a range of costumes.
