In fairy tales witches always wear silly black hats, long black cloaks and they ride on broomsticks. But this is not a fairy tale. This is from the imagination of Roald Dahl and instead, we enter a world where witches look pretty ordinary until you a bit look closer and realise they wear long gloves to hide scary, sharp talons and wigs to hid their deformed, scabby bald heads! Worst of all, they absolutely detest children and it is the wish of The Grand High Witch to get rid of every child in England! This is definitely one of Roald’s darker stories and has a reputation for being scary – so these costumes wont be for everyone, but will make a fantastic World Book Day costume for dauntless young readers!
